Code of conduct
At Minga London, we are committed to responsible production, ethical business practices, and fair labor conditions. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards we expect from ourselves, our suppliers, manufacturers, and business partners to ensure that everyone involved in our supply chain is treated fairly, works in safe conditions, and operates with integrity.
Our guidelines align with internationally recognized labor and human rights standards, including the International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and local labor laws. We expect our suppliers to uphold these principles and extend them to their own subcontractors.
We know that responsibility in fashion is a journey. We’re not perfect, but we are committed to learning, improving, and making thoughtful choices every step of the way.
1. FAIR LABOR PRACTICES
We believe in ethical employment practices and expect all workplaces within our supply chain to uphold fundamental labor rights.
- Workers must receive fair wages that meet or exceed legal minimum standards.
- Employment must be based on clear contracts, with transparent terms regarding wages, benefits, and working hours.
- No forced labor, bonded labor, or any form of human trafficking is tolerated.
- Workers must have the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining, where legally permitted.
- Working hours must comply with local labor laws, and overtime must be voluntary and fairly compensated.
2. SAFE & RESPECTFUL WORK ENVIRONMENTS
Every individual deserves a workplace that is safe, fair, and free from discrimination.
- All employees must be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
- Any form of harassment, abuse, or intimidation will not be tolerated.
- Workplaces must comply with health and safety regulations, ensuring workers are not exposed to hazardous conditions.
- Suppliers must provide adequate safety training, protective equipment, and maintain a clean and secure working environment.
3. NO CHILD LABOR OR FORCED LABOR
Minga London strictly prohibits child labor and forced labor in any form.
- Workers must meet the legal minimum age requirement for employment in their respective countries, as defined by the ILO (International Labour Organization) conventions.
- Young workers (under 18) must not be engaged in hazardous or exploitative work.
- All labor must be freely chosen, and workers must not be subjected to coercion, debt bondage, or withholding of personal documents.
4. RESPONSIBLE SOURCING & PRODUCTION
We are committed to reducing waste, sourcing responsibly, and working with trusted partners who align with our values.
- Production must prioritize small batches to minimize overproduction and excess stock.
- All suppliers must adhere to ethical sourcing guidelines, ensuring that materials are procured responsibly.
- The use of environmentally harmful substances must be restricted, in compliance with Minga London’s Restricted Substances List (RSL).
- Packaging must be kept to a minimum, with preference given to recyclable and eco-friendly materials.
5. SUPPLIER RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY
We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to uphold these ethical standards and comply with local labor laws and international human rights regulations.
- Suppliers must be transparent and willing to provide documentation and audits related to labor conditions, wages, and sourcing practices.
- Non-compliance will result in corrective action plans, and repeated or serious violations may lead to the termination of business relationships.
- Suppliers are expected to extend these principles to their own subcontractors and business partners.
6. ONGOING COMMITMENT & IMPROVEMENT
Ethical and responsible business practices are an ongoing commitment. While challenges exist in the fashion industry, we continuously seek ways to improve and evolve.
We encourage open dialogue with employees, suppliers, and stakeholders to address concerns and enhance our approach. Compliance with this Code of Conduct is fundamental to our business relationships, ensuring that Minga London remains a brand built on integrity, fairness, and responsibility.
By adhering to these principles, we aim to create a positive impact throughout our supply chain, fostering a responsible and sustainable approach to fashion.
